Oh, it's fine to post general questions here -- I'll change the post to reflect that.

At this point, I don't see a need to have a blanket policy about noting whether or not a particular minority identity is "put into practice" in the story. I'd say that creators should just stick with the judgment guidelines above -- if they can imagine a person might be uncomfortable with the work's content, or that the content might not be appropriate for all ages (a good litmus test is whether you'd want your pre-teen niece or nephew viewing the work without knowing what the content would be), then we ask them to note that content as a matter of courtesy. But I think there are a lot of cases where, for this community, a content notice would be appreciated but not mandatory. For example, if there's a story about a freshman at college stumbling into a sex-positive support/social group and feeling at ease for the first time as a kinky person, but there aren't explicit descriptions of BDSM or other sexual practices, I wouldn't consider a content note about kink to be automatically required.
