Title: Algy Beattie and Me
Creator:
el_staplador
Universe: Dear Bob - Annie Porthouse*
Type of work: fic
Contains: Christian characters, homophobia, txtspk, imperfect resolution
Characters: Jude Singleton, Saskia, Liberty Young, Fax, Duncan
Summary: Jude hasn't thought about the gay thing for a while. A chance encounter in Tesco changes everything...
Algy Beattie and Me
*Dear Bob is the evangelical Christian answer to Bridget Jones. It was quite helpful to me at the time I started at university, but there are a whole load of questions it never touches. There's a 'hilarious' moment about halfway through the first book where Jude's mother mistakenly thinks she's a lesbian. But she's not! ... And that's all we ever hear about it. And so I at least wanted Jude to confront the fact that actually there are people who are Christian and LGBT - which is about as far as this gets, really.
